The earthquake cabinet module consists of two chairs and a table. It can be used in workspaces or in our own houses. Furthermore, it becomes a tough, watertight compartment to rubble just 1200 kg/m2. Following the earthquake, the prototype becomes a refuge equipped with sleeping space, storage and protective external weather barrier. In addition, the digital prototype has been analysed using a finite element approach.
According to the MSK scale, it is expected that the seismic cabinet would work properly in a nine-degree intensity earthquake. In this case, housing type A suffers collapse (Class 5) and housing type B suffers destruction (Class 4).
